Pioneer Elementary came together to honor and remember those affected by the events of September 11. We began the day with a schoolwide moment of silence to reflect on the lives lost and the heroes who showed incredible courage.

Students participated in meaningful activities throughout the day to help them understand the importance of remembering. Our second graders worked together to create a special art project, third graders wrote heartfelt thank-you notes and sang to one of our everyday heroes, our School Resource Officer, Officer Coleman, and fifth graders researched the events of 9/11 and created timelines to learn more about what happened that day.

These thoughtful projects gave students an opportunity to learn about kindness, bravery, service, and the importance of coming together as a community. We are proud of the way our Roadrunners honored this important day with respect, gratitude, and compassion.
