Dear Parents,

I am excited to have your child in my 2nd grade class. To help them get ready, we have the following suggestions. Please encourage them to read over the summer. I heard a great suggestion from a parent that the child earns screen time from reading first. I loved that idea! Let them count  change, have them tell you what time it is from an analog clock, and practice math facts. Here is a list of suggested supplies that we need in our classroom:

1 ½ Binder   Glue Sticks   Plastic Pencil Box   A Box of Tissues   A ream of computer paper
Cap Erasers   Disinfecting Wipes   Ear Buds   Hand Sanitizer   Wrapped Candy
Zipper Bags (any size)   Reward Stickers   Band-Aids   Paper Towels   Post-It Notes

Please DO NOT bring colored pencils, markers, pencil sharpeners, trapper keepers, or toys. Thanks so much, I am already looking forward to a great year.
